What is Otolaryngology

Otolaryngology is said to be the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Your Otolaryngologist is commonly referred to as an ENT specialist. These are physicians who are trained to deal with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose and throat; as well as related problems of the head and neck.

The ENT physician has special skills for diagnosing and managing diseases of the sinuses, larynx (voice box), oral cavity, and upper pharynx (mouth and throat), as well as structures of the neck and face.
